Geneva, NY — Radiant Pools ended the year on a high note, recently taking part in an episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. As long time fans of this show, we at Radiant Pools have always admired and applauded what Extreme Makeover:Home Edition does in bringing communities and businesses together to help so many families. We were excited to be involved in this project and have the opportunity to help out this incredible family. The experience was tremendous for Radiant Pools as a company and especially for the personnel who traveled to the site in Geneva, NY to install the pool.

As a New York State manufacturer and an Energy Star Partner, we are especially excited and proud to contribute to this project that will so greatly benefit a family in our region. We were also glad to hopefully assist Mahoney Design & Build in their effort to amass points toward LEED Certification by
including our pool with its energy efficient and environmentally friendly features in this project. The great thing about owning a Radiant pool for this family is that it won’t overburden them in energy costs to heat it and it will extend the swimming season in the too short summers of Central NY.

One of the most amazing, yet challenging aspects of this project is the amount of time that a project of this magnitude is conceived, coordinated, constructed and completed. Working with Radiant Pool dealer, Tarson Pools of Syracuse, NY and their installers in coordinating the schedule of the pool installation We also worked with the landscape design company and the EMHE show’s design producer regarding the liner, step and coping selections. There was also the concrete contractors, the hardscape builders, the electricians and plumbers, the heavy equipment operator all cooperating in this effort to get the pool installed and the backyard complete. As noted by Radiant employee, Chuck Foster, who travelled to the site for the installation, the amazing amount of goodwill and cooperation involved was phenomenal.

The site was revealed on Monday, 8/18/08 when the EMHE crew showed up at the Hill Family residence in Geneva, NY. The pool construction began on Friday, 8/22/08 and was completed and ready for the big Reveal (MOVE THAT BUS!) to the family on Monday, 8/25/08. It was amazing to discover the scope of involvement and the sense of community that was the real buzz on this entire experience. People came from all over, volunteering to do all kinds of things, from hard labor duties to food service to information service and traffic direction. Beyond the television show, the people of Geneva were really coming out to help one of their own. For everyone at Radiant Pools, it was an honor to be involved and an experience we’ll not soon forget.
Friday 8/22/08 - The pool construction
Saturday 8/23/08 - The pool refill and concrete finishing
Sunday 8/24/08 - Cleaning the pool and finishing work
Monday 8/25/08 - The Reveal, time to “Move That Bus!”

Albany, NY — Despite disappointing results for some in the pool industry, 2008 proved to be a great year for Radiant Pools. Successful new products, explosive sales growth, enhanced customer service, new market penetration, and business recognition all combined to make this a shining year for the company.

As Radiant Pools continues to grow, the company’s achievements have not gone unnoticed. On October 2, 2008, the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Council and the Business Council of NY named Radiant Pools the Innovative Enterprise of 2008, honoring them at the Business Councils’ annual Small Business Awards celebration in Latham, NY. Earlier this year, Radiant Pools received an SBA Award of Excellence.

Receiving the awards along with co-owners Jim Beaudoin and George Beaudoin, Tony Sirco said, “It’s a tremendous honor for our company to be recognized for its achievements. Our business is growing every year, and we are excited about the future.”

And finally, in December, in recognition of the company’s incredible successes in the Canadian market, president Tony Sirco was invited to present to the Tech Valley Global Business Network to address Business Opportunities in Canada.

Albany, NY - The U.S. Small Business Administration and the New York Business Development Corporation, along with participating lenders and economic developers, recently recognized Radiant Pools of Albany, New York with an Excellence Award at the 10th Annual Small Business Excellence Awards luncheon and ceremony at The Desmond Hotel and Conference Center.

The Small Business Excellence Awards ceremony is one of many events in local communities across the nation that celebrates National Small Business Week. Small businesses are the driving force behind America’s tremendous growth and job creation. They employ 51 percent of the private-sector workforce — that’s 57 million Americans! They create two out of three new jobs and produce 51% of the private sector output.

Nominated for this award by the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce, Loan Officer, Kevin Catalano said, “When we at the Chamber were reviewing our portfolio of Borrowers, it was an easy choice - Radiant Pools rose to the top. We chose Radiant Pools because they are a growing manufacturer. Buying much of your supplies locally, revenue comes from out side the area, creating jobs. They are experiencing explosive growth over the past two years, and have recently expanded into Canada.”

Receiving the award along with co-owners Jim Beaudoin and George Beaudoin, Tony Sirco said, “It’s a tremendous honor for our company to be recognized for its contributions to the economic development in our area. Our business is growing every year, and we are excited about the future.”

Catalano lauds Radiant Pools as an innovator in the pool industry. Designed with insulated walls to resist heat loss more efficiently than any other type of pool, the Radiant Pool can retain heat generated by the sun, maintaining its water temperature even overnight when other types of pools typically lose up to ten degrees. With its heat retention properties, Radiant Pool owners can realize significant savings on heating costs as well as extending their swimming season.

Dedicated to promoting energy efficiency, Radiant Pools is the only swimming pool manufacturer to become an Energy Star™ Partner. Expanding on over 50 years of proven innovation, Radiant Pools continues to manufacture state of the art energy efficient pools that are strong enough to be installed above ground, in ground, and semi-inground. Radiant Pools are manufactured in a 100,000 sq. ft. facility in Albany, NY and shipped all over North America.

Albany, NY — When faced with the task of staging Metamorphoses at Capital Rep Theatre, director Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill needed to only look up the street for assistance. Just a ways up on North Pearl Street, Radiant Pools is a manufacturer of swimming pools for aboveground, inground and onground installations. President of Radiant Pools and Capital Rep subscriber, Tony Sirco, knew the unique 2” wall panel structure of his pool was exactly what would work for this production.

“The structure of our pool, with its ease of installation, can sit on the stage without the need for bracing or anchoring. It’s inherent strength, once assembled, is the perfect foundation for their set. We custom made the panels to their specs, helped them set it up and they were ready to go,” says Sirco.

Director Mancinelli-Cahill wrote in a letter to Radiant Pools, “On behalf of everyone at Capital Rep, I want to thank you again for the expertise and support you gave us in order to make the pool possible for Metamorphoses . We could not have done it without your help and we truly appreciate it.”
